Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 (24-ounce) jar marinara or pasta sauce

1/2 cup water

1 (20-ounce) package refrigerated cheese tortellini

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground meat, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and 1/2 cup water. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
