Description

Ready to level up your noodle game with a fast, flavorful twist? Bibimmyeon is your new spicy cold noodle obsession. This iconic Korean dish combines chewy wheat noodles with a vibrant gochujang sauce, finished with fresh veggies and a soft-boiled egg for a refreshing yet bold bite. It’s a perfect go-to for those who love quick dinners, healthy snack ideas, or crave something exciting in their meal rotation. Whether you’re searching for easy recipes, dinner ideas, or flavorful food ideas, Bibimmyeon ticks all the boxes with spice, speed, and satisfaction.

Ingredients

100g somyeon noodles

1 ½ tablespoons gochujang

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon sesame oil

½ cucumber, julienned

1 green onion, sliced

1 boiled egg

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Optional: a few slices of Korean pear

Instructions

1. Boil the somyeon noodles according to the package (usually 3–4 minutes), stirring to prevent clumping. Drain and rinse under cold water until chilled.

2. In a bowl, mix gochujang, rice vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil until smooth. Adjust to taste.

3. Prepare toppings: julienne cucumber and slice green onions. Soft-boil the egg and optionally slice pear.

4. Toss chilled noodles in the sauce until fully coated.

5. Plate and garnish with vegetables, egg halves, pear slices (if using), and sesame seeds.

6. Serve immediately and enjoy cold.

Notes

Rinse noodles very well under cold water to stop the cooking and keep them chewy.

Gochujang varies in spice level—taste yours before adjusting the quantity.
