A creamy, cheesy twist on classic lasagna, this Broccoli Cheddar Chicken Lasagna features layers of tender chicken, fresh broccoli, and a rich white cheddar sauce. Perfect for a cozy dinner or meal prep, it’s a deliciously comforting dish the whole family will love.


Ingredients

For the Lasagna Layers:

12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente

3 cups cooked and shredded chicken

3 cups broccoli florets, lightly steamed

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

For the White Cheddar Sauce:

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

3 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

For Topping:

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then gradually add milk and cream. Stir until thickened, then mix in cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, steamed broccoli, 1 cup cheddar cheese, and 1 cup of the sauce. Stir to mix.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna: Spread a thin layer of sauce in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Layer noodles, the chicken mixture, more sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of noodles and sauce.
  5. Add the Topping: Sprinkle extra cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Rest & Serve: Let the lasagna sit for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley and enjoy!
