Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup crushed pineapple (with juice)

1/3 cup soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water (for cornstarch slurry)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 tablespoons chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and lightly oil a rack if using.

2. Pat chicken wings dry and place them on the sheet in a single layer.

3. Bake wings for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

4. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and chili garlic sauce. Bring to a simmer.

5. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry, then stir it into the sauce. Simmer until thickened and glossy.

6. Transfer baked wings to a large bowl and pour the hot glaze over them. Toss well to coat.

7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For crispier skin, broil wings for the last 3–5 minutes of baking.

You can make the glaze a day ahead and reheat before tossing with wings.
