Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large apple (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), peeled and diced
1 tbsp granulated sugar (for apples)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tbsp water
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tbsp powdered sugar (for topping)
Instructions
1. In a small skillet, cook diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, water, and cornstarch until tender and syrupy. Let cool.
2. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
3. Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles.
4. Place a spoonful of cheesecake mixture on one half, then top with apple filling.
5. Cover with another pastry rectangle and crimp edges to seal.
6. Brush with egg wash and bake at 375°F for 18–20 minutes or until golden.
7. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Let the apple filling cool completely before assembling to avoid soggy pastry.
Use all-butter puff pastry for the flakiest texture.
