Ingredients

1 ½ pounds ground beef

½ cup breadcrumbs

2 large eggs

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

¼ cup ketchup

1 tablespoon mustard

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion, garlic, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix just until combined.

3. Grease a baking dish and spread half of the meat mixture into the bottom.

4. Layer with half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

5. Add the remaining meat mixture and top with the remaining cheese.

6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

7. Uncover and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

8. While baking, cook the bacon until crispy. Chop and set aside.

9. Remove casserole from the oven and sprinkle bacon over the top.

10. Garnish with chopped parsley and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

This recipe is even better the next day—leftovers reheat beautifully!
