Ingredients
2 pounds cube steak
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for gravy)
2 cups whole milk
Salt and black pepper to taste (for gravy)
Instructions
1. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
2. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and eggs.
3. Dip each piece of cube steak into the buttermilk mixture, then dredge in seasoned flour, pressing to adhere.
4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Fry steaks for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
6. Pour off most of the oil, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the skillet.
