Description
Chocolate Haystacks are the kind of easy dessert that disappear fast. These no-bake chocolate clusters are crunchy, sweet, and packed with that classic mix of creamy chocolate, peanut butter, and crispy chow mein noodles. They are perfect for holiday trays, quick dessert cravings, party sweets, and simple homemade food ideas when you want something fun without turning on the oven.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4 cups chow mein noodles
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet, tray, or large plate with parchment paper or wax paper.
2. Add the milk chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter to a large microwave-safe bowl.
3. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
4. Add the chow mein noodles and chopped peanuts to the melted mixture.
5. Stir gently until all the noodles are evenly coated without crushing them too much.
6. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared tray to form small clusters.
7. Let the haystacks set at room temperature until firm, or refrigerate them for faster setting.
8. Serve once the clusters are fully set.
Notes
Do not overheat the chocolate mixture, or it can become thick and grainy instead of smooth and glossy.
