Ingredients

For the cake base:

1 box vanilla or white cake mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as called for on the box)

1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the cinnamon-sugar swirl:

1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

For the glaze:

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the cream cheese icing:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

12 tbsp milk (to thin if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box and stir in 1 tsp cinnamon.
  3. Pour the batter into the dish and bake according to the package directions.
  4. Let the cake cool slightly, then poke holes all over the top using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  5. Mix sweetened condensed milk with vanilla and pour over the warm cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Drizzle over the cake.
  7. For the icing, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla. Thin with milk if needed. Drizzle over the cake.
  8. Let the cake rest for 10–15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
