Description

Crack Green Beans are the kind of easy side dish that instantly makes dinner feel more exciting. Tender green beans are baked in a buttery brown sugar glaze with smoky bacon until glossy, savory, and completely irresistible. This quick side dish is perfect for holiday dinners, easy weeknight meals, comfort food cravings, and family gatherings. If you need simple dinner ideas, easy recipe inspiration, vegetable side dishes, or crowd-pleasing food ideas, this one deserves a spot on your table.

Ingredients

2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed

8 slices bacon, chopped

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

3. Add the trimmed green beans to the prepared baking dish.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.

5. Pour the butter mixture over the green beans and toss until evenly coated.

6. Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the top.

7. Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the green beans are tender and the sauce is bubbling.

8. Serve warm with a spoonful of the glaze over the top.

Notes

Do not overbake the beans, or they can lose their bright texture and turn too soft instead of tender.
