Ingredients
12 oz cranberries (fresh or frozen)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and cinnamon stick if using.
2. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Stir occasionally until cranberries burst and mixture thickens, about 15–20 minutes.
3. Use a potato masher or spoon to mash cranberries into desired consistency. Simmer another 5–10 minutes until thickened.
4. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
5. Transfer to a clean jar, cool completely, and store in refrigerator up to 10 days.
Notes
For a spiced variation, add ground cloves or ginger during the simmering process.
If you’d like a smoother texture, blend the jam after cooking and straining out solids.
