Ingredients

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

3/4 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Asiago cheese

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional


Instructions

1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove to a plate.

3. Lower the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until softened and lightly browned, about 6 to 8 minutes.

4. Stir in the minced garlic and fresh thyme, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
