Ingredients
400g spaghetti
500g ground Italian beef
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
400g crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
200g Velveeta cheese, cubed
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup reserved pasta water
Fresh parsley or parmesan, optional for garnish
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground Italian beef and cook until browned.
3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef. Cook until fragrant and soft, about 2–3 minutes.
4. Stir in tomato paste and cook for another minute.
5. Add crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10–15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Lower the heat and add cubed Velveeta cheese and a splash of pasta water. Stir until melted and creamy.
7. Add spaghetti to the sauce and toss well to coat. Garnish with parsley or parmesan if desired.
8. Serve hot and enjoy the melty, meaty, creamy goodness!
Notes
Don’t overcook the pasta—al dente gives the best bite when mixed into the creamy sauce.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce if you like a little heat.
