Ingredients

4 large egg whites, at room temperature

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup granulated sugar

1 (3 oz) box of flavored Jello (choose your favorite)

Optional: gel food coloring for vibrant swirls


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F (93°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean mixing bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt on medium speed until foamy.
  3. Gradually add sugar one tablespoon at a time while beating.
  4. Continue on high speed until stiff, glossy peaks form (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Add the Jello powder and optional food coloring. Beat until just combined.
  6. Pipe mixture onto baking sheets using a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  7. Bake for 1 hour. Turn oven off and let cookies sit inside for an additional hour.
