This classic recipe combines tender egg noodles, flaky tuna, and a rich sauce, all topped with a golden, crispy breadcrumb crust. Simple to prepare and packed with flavor, it’s a family favorite that never disappoints.

Ingredients

12 oz egg noodles

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup milk

1 cup frozen peas

1/2 cup celery, diced

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

2 tbsp butter, melted

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the egg noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Assemble the Casserole: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, mix the drained tuna, cooked noodles, peas, and celery. Pour the sauce over the mixture and stir gently to coat.
  4. Add Cheese and Topping: Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole.
  5. Bake and Serve: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
