Ingredients

1 cup warm eggnog

2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

½ teaspoon salt

4 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

¼ cup eggnog (for glaze)

1 cup powdered sugar

Pinch of nutmeg (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Warm the eggnog to about 110°F and combine with yeast and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.

3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (1 to 1.5 hours).

5. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and softened butter into a spreadable paste.

6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling evenly.

7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.

8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.

9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 22–28 minutes until golden.

10. Beat together cream cheese, eggnog, powdered sugar, and nutmeg to make the glaze.

11. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area to ensure it becomes fluffy and light.

Don’t skip the second rise—it’s key to achieving that soft, bakery-style texture.
