Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 packet French onion soup mix
2 cups beef broth
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess grease.
3. In a large bowl, combine the browned beef, uncooked rice, French onion soup mix, beef broth, and cream of mushroom soup. Mix well.
4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
5. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and dot with butter.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 50-55 minutes.
7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until cheese is golden and bubbly.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For deeper flavor, you can add sautéd onions or mushrooms to the beef mixture before baking.
Mozzarella is great for gooey texture, but a cheddar-mozzarella blend adds even more flavor.
