Ingredients
6 cups day-old bread cubes
4 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 cup chicken broth, warm
2 large eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 300°F and toast the bread cubes on a baking sheet for 10–15 minutes until dry and lightly golden.
2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion and celery until tender and translucent.
3. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, parsley, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning.
4. Add beaten eggs and pour in warm chicken broth gradually until mixture is moist but not soggy.
5. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized portions and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
6. Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until golden and firm. For a crispier result, pan-sear before baking.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding cooked sausage to the mix.
To freeze, bake the stuffing balls first, let them cool, then store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
