Description

Holiday Loaf Magic is the kind of cozy homemade bake that makes any table feel a little more special. This easy recipe delivers a soft, buttery loaf with a tender crumb and a sweet vanilla glaze that turns every slice into a comforting treat. Perfect for a quick breakfast, holiday brunch, easy dessert, snack board, or make-ahead sweet bread, it is one of those simple food ideas you will want to bake again and again.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup whole milk

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Add the dry ingredients in three additions, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix just until combined.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

8. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.

10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf, let it set, then slice and serve.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter once the flour goes in, or the loaf can turn dense instead of soft and tender.
