Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
½ cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat and caramelize onions for 25–30 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
2. Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare a loaf pan or baking sheet.
3. Mix beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, broth, Worcestershire sauce, seasonings, and half the onions.
