1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
4–5 fresh jalapeños, diced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Topping Ingredients:
1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
1/4 cup crushed Ritz crackers or panko breadcrumbs (optional)
1 tablespoon butter, melted (if using breadcrumbs)
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
Optional Add-Ins:
4 slices crispy bacon, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Dice the jalapeños, removing the seeds for a milder dip or keeping them for extra heat.
- Grate the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese if using a block.
- Mix the Base
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Mix well using a hand mixer or spatula until smooth and evenly combined.
- Stir in the diced jalapeños, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Assemble the Dip
- Transfer the cheese mixture into an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle extra shredded cheese over the top.
- (Optional) Mix melted butter with crushed crackers or panko breadcrumbs and spread evenly on top.
