Ingredients

Base Ingredients:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

45 fresh jalapeños, diced

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Topping Ingredients:

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)

1/4 cup crushed Ritz crackers or panko breadcrumbs (optional)

1 tablespoon butter, melted (if using breadcrumbs)

Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)

Optional Add-Ins:

4 slices crispy bacon, crumbled

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Dice the jalapeños, removing the seeds for a milder dip or keeping them for extra heat.
    • Grate the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese if using a block.
  2. Mix the Base
    • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    • Mix well using a hand mixer or spatula until smooth and evenly combined.
    • Stir in the diced jalapeños, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  3. Assemble the Dip
    • Transfer the cheese mixture into an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
    • Sprinkle extra shredded cheese over the top.
    • (Optional) Mix melted butter with crushed crackers or panko breadcrumbs and spread evenly on top.
  4. Bake to Perfection
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown.
    • For a crispier top, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end, keeping an eye on it.
  5. Garnish & Serve
    • Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley or chives.
    • Serve hot with crackers, tortilla chips, toasted baguette, or fresh veggies
