Ingredients
For the Dough:
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
¾ cup warm milk (110°F)
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
½ tsp salt
For the Blueberry Filling:
1 ½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp cornstarch
For the Lemon Blueberry Frosting:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp blueberry puree (from filling)
1 tbsp lemon juice
Zest of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl; let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour and knead dough 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Let dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour or until doubled.
- In a saucepan, cook blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch until thick; let cool.
- Roll out dough to 16×12 inches and spread blueberry filling.
- Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in greased 9×13 pan and let rise 30–45 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden.
- Beat cream cheese and butter; add powdered sugar, blueberry puree, lemon juice, and zest.
- Frost slightly cooled rolls and garnish as desired.
