Ingredients

For the Dough:

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

¼ cup granulated sugar

2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast

¾ cup warm milk (110°F)

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

½ tsp salt

For the Blueberry Filling:

1 ½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries

½ cup granulated sugar

1 tbsp lemon juice

2 tsp cornstarch

For the Lemon Blueberry Frosting:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tbsp butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp blueberry puree (from filling)

1 tbsp lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon


Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl; let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead dough 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. In a saucepan, cook blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch until thick; let cool.
  6. Roll out dough to 16×12 inches and spread blueberry filling.
  7. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 rolls.
  8. Place rolls in greased 9×13 pan and let rise 30–45 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden.
  10. Beat cream cheese and butter; add powdered sugar, blueberry puree, lemon juice, and zest.
  11. Frost slightly cooled rolls and garnish as desired.
