Ingredients

1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/4 cup tequila (silver or blanco)

1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice

2 tablespoons orange juice

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Lime slices and additional chopped cilantro for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together tequila, lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, and honey.
  2. Stir in garlic, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place shrimp in a zip-top bag or shallow dish; pour marinade over the shrimp.
  4. Seal or cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  5. Preheat grill to medium-high or heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Remove shrimp from marinade; discard any excess marinade.
