  • 1 loaf of Brioche, Challah, or French Bread (about 6 cups, cut into cubes)
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar (for dusting)
  • Fresh Strawberries (optional, for topping

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bread: Cut the bread into cubes (about 6 cups). Use slightly stale bread for best results.
  • Make the Custard Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  • Layer the Bread and Nutella: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer half the bread cubes, then drizzle or spread Nutella over the bread. Add the remaining bread cubes and spread the rest of the Nutella.
  • Pour Custard: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread. Gently press down the bread to ensure it’s soaked.
  • Refrigerate (Optional): Cover and refrigerate the casserole for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
