Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 refrigerated pie crusts
1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned and softened. Drain any excess fat.
3. Add garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 2–3 more minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
4. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Prick the base with a fork and bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
5. Sprinkle half the cheddar cheese over the pre-baked crust.
6. Pour in the beef mixture and spread evenly.
7. Whisk the egg and drizzle it over the meat filling. Top with the remaining cheese.
8. Cover with second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut steam vents in the center.
9. Brush with egg wash.
10. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
