Ingredients

14 oz fresh yakisoba noodles (or cooked chow mein noodles)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1/2 medium onion, sliced

2 cups cabbage, chopped

1 cup celery, sliced diagonally

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1/2 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon sugar

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. If using packaged yakisoba noodles, run them under warm water to loosen. If using dried noodles, cook and drain.
  2. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce (optional), sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Stir-fry onions for 1–2 minutes until translucent.
  5. Add cabbage and celery; stir-fry for another 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Push veggies to the side. Add noodles and let them sear lightly for a minute.
  7. Pour in the sauce mixture and toss everything to coat evenly.
  8. Stir-fry for 2–3 more minutes until heated through. Serve hot.
