Get ready for the ultimate comfort food mash-up: Patty Melt Pizza. It’s an easy dinner recipe that blends classic diner flavors with pizza-night fun. Perfect for quick weeknight meals, hearty weekend cravings, or creative dinner ideas, this is a savory, cheesy, crowd-pleasing food idea you’ll make again and again.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 large yellow onion, sliced

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 pound pizza dough

½ cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

1. In a cast iron skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter and sauté the sliced onions for 15–20 minutes until caramelized. Remove from skillet and set aside.

2. In the same skillet, brown the ground beef. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir in the caramelized onions. Remove from heat.

3. Roll out the pizza dough and press it into a buttered cast iron skillet. Let it rest for a few minutes.

4. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and Dijon mustard together to make the sauce. Spread it over the dough.

5. Add the beef and onion mixture evenly over the sauce layer.

6. Top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.

7. Bake at 425°F for 18–22 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling. Broil for 1–2 minutes if desired.

8. Let cool slightly, slice, and serve directly from the skillet.

Notes

For extra crispiness, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.

Swap the sauce for Thousand Island dressing if you want a shortcut.
