Ingredients

1 and 2/3 cups white sugar

2/3 cup evaporated milk

2 tablespoons butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 (6-ounce) package milk chocolate chips

16 large marshmallows

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment or foil and lightly grease it.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Stir constantly and boil for 5 full minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in chocolate chips and marshmallows until melted and smooth.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and pecans, if using.
  6. Pour into prepared dish and spread evenly.
  7. Let cool at room temperature or refrigerate until set.
