Topped with a golden oat crumble, it’s everything you crave from a comforting fall or winter bake. This easy recipe is perfect for casual family dinners, festive gatherings, or a fuss-free holiday dessert. Whether you’re looking for quick breakfast ideas, easy dinner desserts, or healthy snack-style fruit bakes, this crisp checks every box. A beautiful blend of flavor and texture that’s as easy as it is delicious.

Ingredients

4 cups sliced pears

2 cups fresh cranberries

1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for filling)

3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/3 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)

1/3 cup brown sugar (for topping)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)

1/4 cup cold butter, cubed

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a medium baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, toss sliced pears and cranberries with 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

3. In another bowl, combine oats, 1/3 cup flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, and cold butter. Use fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until crumbly.

4. Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish and evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit.

5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling around the edges.

6. Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For extra crunch, mix in 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts into the topping.

Use firm pears like Bosc or Anjou so they don’t break down too much during baking.
