Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 large egg

1/2 cup white chocolate chips

1/3 cup crushed peppermint candies

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream and egg, then pour into dry ingredients.

5. Fold in white chocolate chips until just combined.

6. Transfer dough to a floured surface, pat into a 1-inch thick circle, and cut into 8 wedges.

7. Place wedges on the baking sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes until lightly golden.

8. Mix powdered sugar with milk to create glaze.

9. Drizzle glaze over warm scones and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.

10. Serve warm or allow to cool and store as desired.

Notes

Make sure the butter is very cold for the flakiest texture.

Don’t overmix the dough—handle gently for tender scones.
