Ingredients
1 can pineapple rings (8 ounces), drained
8 maraschino cherries
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter (for topping)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (for batter)
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a small saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter with brown sugar. Pour into the cake pan and spread evenly.
