Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon fine salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup whole milk
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
Garlic butter topping:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh, finely chopped)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment.
2. Whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and garlic powder.
3. Stir in milk and melted (cooled) butter just until combined; do not overmix.
4. Fold in shredded cheddar until evenly distributed.
5. Spread batter into pan; smooth the top. Bake 45–50 minutes until a toothpick tests clean.
6. Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley; brush over the hot loaf.
7. Cool 10 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
