A perfect pick for lovers of creative desserts, chocolate lovers, and anyone searching for unforgettable easy dessert recipes, Halloween baking, or gothic food ideas.

Ingredients

85 g all-purpose flour

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

100 g granulated sugar

120 ml buttermilk

60 ml vegetable oil

1 large egg

2 tsp red food coloring

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp white vinegar

6 chunks semi-sweet chocolate

powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease your skull silicone molds.

2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda.

3. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, egg, oil, buttermilk, red food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar until smooth.

4. Slowly stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.

5. Fill each mold halfway, press a chunk of chocolate into the center, then cover with remaining batter.

6. Bake for 13–15 minutes until the edges are set but centers remain soft.

7. Let cool in the molds for 10 minutes before unmolding.

8. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

For a spookier finish, use black food dust or edible glitter before serving.

Make ahead and warm just before serving for the best lava effect.
