Description

Bold, garlicky, and ready in under 30 minutes, this Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is a quick dinner classic made with simple pantry staples. Perfect for easy dinner ideas, weeknight meals, and comforting pasta cravings. This light yet flavorful Italian pasta recipe combines spaghetti, olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes for a timeless dish everyone loves.

Ingredients

12 ounces spaghetti

6 cloves garlic thinly sliced

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/4 cup fresh parsley finely chopped

1 tablespoon salt

1/2 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti until al dente. Reserve pasta water before draining.

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat.

3. Add sliced garlic and cook gently until lightly golden and fragrant.

4. Stir in red pepper flakes and cook briefly to infuse flavor.

5. Add drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well.

6. Add reserved pasta water gradually and toss until a silky sauce forms.

7. Remove from heat, sprinkle parsley on top, and serve immediately.

Notes

Cook garlic gently over medium-low heat to prevent bitterness. Garlic should be lightly golden, not brown.
