Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground pork

1 tbsp vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup water or chicken broth

45 heads baby bok choy, halved or chopped

1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional)


Instructions

  1. Wash bok choy and prep all ingredients in advance.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Brown the ground meat for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  6. Toss in bok choy and pour in water or broth. Cover and steam for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Add cornstarch slurry if desired and cook for 1 more minute.
  8. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
