8 oz spaghetti or bucatini pasta
1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced into strips
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Optional: grated parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Pat the steak dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steak strips for 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Cook pasta in a pot of salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Let bubble and thicken for about a minute.
- Toss cooked pasta into the skillet, adding a splash of pasta water if needed.
