Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti or bucatini pasta

1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced into strips

4 cloves garlic, finely minced

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 tbsp olive oil (divided)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Optional: grated parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steak strips for 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. Cook pasta in a pot of salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Let bubble and thicken for about a minute.
  5. Toss cooked pasta into the skillet, adding a splash of pasta water if needed.
  6. Return steak to the pan and mix gently until everything is heated through and coated in sauce.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and optional parmesan.
