1 lb chicken thighs, thinly sliced or ground
2 cups Thai basil leaves
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 Thai bird’s eye chilies, sliced (or 1 tsp red chili flakes)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp neutral oil
2 tbsp water or chicken broth
Instructions
1. Prep all your ingredients: slice chicken, mince garlic, measure sauces.
2. Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high. Add garlic and chilies, stir-fry 30 seconds.
3. Add chicken, cook until browned and fully cooked (4–5 minutes).
4. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and water. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
5. Turn off heat, stir in basil leaves until wilted. Serve hot over rice with a fried egg.
Notes
For milder heat, use fewer chilies or substitute with mild red pepper flakes.
You can swap chicken for ground turkey, tofu, or shrimp for variation.
