Ingredients

5 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and chopped

1 cup water

8 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 ounces cream cheese

1 cup whole milk, warmed

1 ½ teaspoons salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

3 garlic cloves, optional

Instructions

1. Peel and chop the potatoes, then place them in the crockpot with water, salt, and garlic if using.

2. Cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–7 hours, until fork-tender.

3. Drain excess water if needed, then add butter and cream cheese.

4. Mash directly in the crockpot using a masher or hand mixer.

5. Slowly stir in the warmed milk until desired consistency is reached.

6. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

7. Set crockpot to WARM and serve when ready. Garnish if desired.

Notes

Warming the milk before adding helps it blend in more smoothly.

For extra flavor, swap regular butter with garlic herb butter.
