Ingredients
3 cups cooked shredded chicken
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 sleeves Ritz crackers, crushed
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons sliced green onions
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, mix the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, cheddar cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper until fully combined.
3. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
4. In a separate bowl, toss the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted butter until coated.
5. Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the casserole is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
7. Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes, then top with sliced green onions and serve.
Notes
Do not over-crush the Ritz crackers into fine dust, or the topping can lose that signature crispy texture that makes this casserole so good.
