Description

Chicken Tetrazzini is the kind of creamy, cozy pasta bake that makes dinner feel easy and special at the same time. This easy recipe combines tender chicken, spaghetti, a rich homemade cream sauce, and melty cheese for a comforting family meal everyone will want again. It is perfect for quick dinner nights, easy dinner planning, comfort food cravings, and practical food ideas when you need simple dinner ideas that still feel homemade and satisfying.

Ingredients

3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

12 ounces spaghetti

4 tablespoons butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup sour cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup frozen peas

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.

3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the garlic for about 30 seconds.

4. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute until smooth.

5. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and heavy cream until the sauce is smooth.

6. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until slightly thickened.

7. Stir in the sour cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.

8. Add the cooked chicken and peas, then stir until combined.

9. Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce until fully coated.

10. Transfer everything to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

11. Top with mozzarella cheese.

12. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.

13. Rest for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Notes

Do not overcook the spaghetti before baking, or the final dish can turn too soft after it absorbs the sauce in the oven.
