Description

Cozy Winter Lattes are the kind of warm drink that makes cold mornings feel softer and slow afternoons feel a little more special. This easy recipe combines strong coffee, creamy milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon for a homemade latte that tastes rich, smooth, and café-worthy without much effort. It is perfect for a quick breakfast, a cozy afternoon pick-me-up, holiday sipping, or easy drink ideas when you want something comforting and simple.

Ingredients

1 cup strong brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso

1 1/2 cups whole milk

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup whipped cream

1 pinch nutmeg or extra cinnamon for topping

2 thin apple slices, optional garnish

Instructions

1. Brew the coffee or espresso and divide it between 2 mugs.

2. Add the milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon to a small saucepan.

3. Warm the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring often, until hot but not boiling.

4. Froth the warm milk mixture with a milk frother or whisk until lightly foamy.

5. Pour the milk mixture over the coffee in each mug.

6. Spoon the foam on top of each latte.

7. Finish with whipped cream, a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon, and apple slices if using.

8. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Do not let the milk boil, or the latte can lose its smooth texture and develop a slightly scorched taste.
