Description

Craving a quick dinner that tastes fresh, savory, and better than takeout? This Delicious Asian Shrimp and Cabbage Stir Fry is packed with juicy shrimp, tender cabbage, crisp bell peppers, and a glossy garlic soy sauce that comes together fast in one pan. It is an easy recipe for busy weeknights, a great choice for healthy dinner ideas, simple food ideas, and flavorful seafood meals when you want a quick dinner without a lot of fuss.

Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cups green cabbage, chopped

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 cup carrots, thinly sliced

1 small onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp cornstarch

1/3 cup chicken broth

1/4 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, chicken broth, and black pepper until smooth.

2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

3. Add the shrimp and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and lightly golden, then remove from the pan.

4. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan.

5. Cook the onion, garlic, carrots, and red bell pepper for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring often.

6. Add the cabbage and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until slightly wilted but still tender-crisp.

7. Return the shrimp to the pan and pour in the sauce.

8. Stir everything together and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp and vegetables.

9. Top with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Do not overcook the shrimp, because they can turn rubbery very quickly once they are fully pink.
