Description

Get ready to fall in love with a crispy, cheesy appetizer that always steals the spotlight. These Jalapeño Popper Twists are everything you want in an easy recipe: buttery puff pastry, creamy cheese filling, and just enough jalapeño heat to keep every bite exciting. Perfect for game day, party platters, snack boards, quick appetizers, and fun food ideas for gatherings, this recipe is simple to make but looks impressively bakery-style once baked. If you need easy appetizer ideas, quick party snacks, or a crowd-pleasing savory bake, these twists are a delicious choice.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 jalapeños, thinly sliced with seeds removed for milder heat

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1 egg, beaten

1 tbsp chopped chives

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika until well combined.

3. Fold in the sliced jalapeños.

4. Lightly flour your surface and unfold the puff pastry. Roll gently to smooth the seams.

5. Spread the filling over one half of the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

6. Fold the other half over the filling and press lightly to seal.

7. Cut the pastry into 8 to 10 even strips using a knife or pizza cutter.

8. Twist each strip several times and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

9. Brush each twist with beaten egg.

10. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until puffed and deep golden brown.

11. Let cool for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with chopped chives and serve warm.

Notes

Do not overfill the pastry, or the cheese may leak out too much during baking and keep the twists from holding their shape.
