Ingredients
2 tablespoons green tea leaves
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups cold water
2 cups whole milk
4 cardamom pods, crushed
1 small cinnamon stick
2 teaspoons sugar (or to taste)
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped pistachios
1 tablespoon chopped almonds
Instructions
1. Boil green tea leaves in 2 cups cold water with baking soda for 10–15 minutes until deep burgundy in color.
2. Add 1 cup ice-cold water to the mixture and whisk or pour between containers to aerate.
3. Return to heat, add whole milk, and bring to a gentle simmer. Watch the color turn pink.
4. Stir in cardamom, cinnamon, sugar, and salt. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
5. Strain into cups and top with chopped pistachios and almonds before serving.
Notes
Use a strong green tea (like gunpowder) to help the color transform properly.
Don’t skip the aeration step—it’s key to achieving that pink magic!
