Description

Teriyaki Glazed Brussels Sprouts are the kind of easy recipe that can completely change how you feel about vegetables. Roasted until tender with crispy golden edges, then tossed in a glossy sweet and savory teriyaki glaze, they deliver big flavor with very little effort. This is one of those side dish food ideas that works for a quick dinner, holiday table, healthy snack plate, or simple meal prep. If you are looking for easy dinner sides, vegetable side dishes, or fresh dinner ideas with bold flavor, this recipe is a delicious one to keep on repeat.

Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/3 cup teriyaki sauce

1 tbsp honey

1 tsp rice vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp sesame seeds

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

1 tbsp chopped chives or green onions

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Place the halved Brussels sprouts on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper. Toss well and spread them cut-side down in a single layer.

3. Roast for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and deeply browned around the edges.

4. While the Brussels sprouts roast, add the teriyaki sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil to a small saucepan. Warm over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until glossy and slightly thickened.

5. Transfer the roasted Brussels sprouts to a large bowl. Pour the warm glaze over them and toss until evenly coated.

6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, red pepper flakes, and chopped chives or green onions. Serve warm.

Notes

Do not add the teriyaki glaze before roasting, or the sugars can burn too early and keep the Brussels sprouts from getting those crisp caramelized edges.
